Description
Julia Santa Olalla’s sixteen-colour serigraph questions the visual’s evocative nature. Our responsibility for reality’s interpretation is the only antidote vis-à-vis ambiguity and uncertainty. The magic in her images stems from reality’s poeticization by unveiling something underlying the mundane. She depicts different degrees of iconicity, from figuration to the abstract. Santa Olalla shows her working process through the paint’s texture. She does not represent the things but rather reveals the matter’s energy.
